BMW S65 BE Bearings Connecting Rod Bearing Upgrade Set is designed to address the known flaws in the factory BMW rod bearings, particularly for the S65B40 engine. Manufactured by Clevite to BE Bearing specifications, this set provides a crucial upgrade with its enhanced materials and design, ensuring improved performance and durability.

The original BMW bearings have minimal clearance, which leads to premature wear and potential engine failure. This upgrade replaces the tin-aluminum factory bearings with a superior silver-oxide-coated tri-metal "F" series design. The new bearings can handle 30% more load, offer better performance in low oil conditions, and are more forgiving of foreign particles in the oil. Designed specifically for BMW S65 engines, these bearings provide optimal performance for high-horsepower applications.

Designed specifically for BMW S65B40 engines
Silver-oxide coating withstands 30% more load capacity
Improved performance under low-oil and boundary conditions
Stronger backing material for enhanced durability
Corrects factory BMW rod bearing clearance issue
Ideal for high-horsepower applications and factory 10W60 weight oils
Complete set for 8 cylinders, ready for installation

Fits the following BMWs:

2008-2013 E9X BMW M3 (S65)

Designed and manufactured by Clevite to BE Bearing specifications.

These bearings replace the factory BMW rod bearings. The original BMW bearings have too little clearance, which leads to premature bearing wear and can cause early engine failure. Furthermore, the factory BMW bearings are made from tin-aluminum which are 5-times harder than a softer lead-copper bearing design. A softer bearing is better for your engine and more tolerant of foreign particles suspended in your oil.

These BE Bearings feature a state-of-the-art Clevite Tri-Metal design with the Clevite Tri-Armor(tm) coating.

Lead-copper design for greater durability and easy tracking with oil analysis like Blackstone (recommended).
Designed with extra clearance to "fix" the BMW rod bearing design flaw.
Designed for use with factory 10W60 weight oils.
Tri-Armor coated for low conditions during cold start
Ideal for start-stop vehicles
Applicable for BMW engines S85B50
Standard Clearance
Sold as complete set (10-cylinders)

Fits the following BMWs:
2005-2010 E60 BMW M5
2005-2010 E63/64 BMW M6

Under certain conditions, the N55 crank hub likes to spin, without warning and even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). Features: Installs the same as a stock hub Does NOT require the crank to be drilled for pins Manufactured from Harndered 17-4SS We suggest the Crank Hub System ONLY be installed by a qualified shop or technician. Timing tools are 100% REQUIRED if installed improperly engine damage may occur. DISCLAIMER: VTT and ECS are not responsible for any engine damage caused by improper installation, or misuse of the crank hub solution.

Anyone with a modified N54 knows the risks involved. Upping the performance of any engine can come with some inherent risk; if we add more boost but not fuel, detonation will occur (or worse). Furthermore, improper installation, maintenance, or operation can turn a perfectly healthy engine into a paperweight. The worst failures, however, are the ones we don't plan for. When the engine simply can't handle the stresses its put under, or the design is such that it simply does not support extreme conditions. Enter the N54 crank hub. Under certain conditions, it likes to spin without warning, even when the engine is in perfect health. Vargas spent many months testing, and retesting this design, utilizing well over 10 different samples to come to the final production version. During testing, the final hub managed to break the testing rig before slipping. These have been bench-tested, and real-world tested on the VTT N54 race car spinning 8K RPM, and making well over 900WHP. VTT is proud to offer the only complete N54 complete crank hub solution that does NOT require the crank to be drilled for pins. Our hub uses our proprietary “Spline Lock” technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor).
