BMW’s turbocharged B48 and B58 engines use a water-to-air charge air cooling system, with a front-mounted heat exchanger responsible for heat dissipation. Unfortunately, the factory single-row, 25mm core design is quick to heat soak under high load, leading to excessive intake air temperatures and potential limp mode conditions—especially on modified or track-driven cars.

Built from TIG-welded 6061-T6 aluminum, the ECS unit eliminates the factory plastic end tanks—one of the system’s most common failure points. Each heat exchanger features CNC-machined billet aluminum hose connections, mounting flanges, and brackets for perfect OE fitment and trouble-free installation.

To drastically improve thermal efficiency, the factory 25mm single-row core has been replaced with a dual-row, 42mm performance core, offering a 72% increase in thickness.
