Vargas turbochargers feature a complete redesign of key components, including the compressor housing, bearing housing, and turbine housing. These turbos are specifically engineered to fit in the stock N54 location while offering the flow capacity of much larger units. Every detail has been carefully designed to meet our performance, flow, and reliability objectives. The result is a turbo that fits the stock location and supports up to 700WHP. To achieve this, the internal areas of the manifolds, turbine, and compressor housings have been expanded. Additionally, the AR ratio of the turbine housing has been slightly increased to enhance flow without compromising spool time. Simply put, no other turbocharger—whether single or twin—can match the spool, ease of fitment, power, or reliability of our “GC LITE” turbos, which are capable of delivering 700WHP.

Presenting the perfect addition to our X5M, XM intake system to optimize the flow path all the way to the turbos. Our carbon inlets have a larger volume than the stock inlets by maintaining a larger diameter all the way to the turbos. The stock inlets narrow down immediately after the connection to the intake which creates a restriction especially at higher boost levels. We have alleviated this restriction and also designed the curvature to be as smooth as possible allowing the turbos to function with reduced resistance. Made from prepreg carbon fiber with CNC machined flanges, the inlets also provide an aesthetic improvement to the engine bay. Benefits of the inlets are apparent with tuned vehicles where the boost pressure is higher and therefore the flow demand form the turbos is greater. This is where the larger volume of the carbon inlets help provide that extra flow. The performance gains are produced from providing the turbos with a less resistive flow path which allows them to reach peak boost sooner in the RPM range. When comparing to the stock inlets the differences are clear to see. Where the stock tubes narrow down immediately after the connection to the intakes, our tubes maintain a larger diameter and the reduction to the stock turbos is achieved with an internal radius on the machined flanges. This allows for larger volume whilst maintaining a smooth flow path. One of the drawbacks of the oversized inlets was the more aggressive reduction in size to match the stock turbos which created some flow constraints. Looking to get the most efficient turbocharger operation out of your N54 powered BMW? The best way to do this is to remove all restrictions from the inlet, and charge tract. The factory charge pipe has a very small 1″ opening and a poorly designed Y section that couples the two banks into one before entering the intercooler. This VTT N54 Aluminum outlet gets rid of those restrictions and provides a full 1.5″ from the turbochargers to a smooth Y transition into a 2.5″ outlet to fit most aftermarket intercoolers. Do not be fooled by companies trying to sell you oversized 2″ charge pipes, these are not going to pick up any power, and will kill velocity. The smallest diameter you can run while still providing adequate flow is always best for flow velocity and reducing time to TQ. This outlet is powder-coated black for a durable finish. The outlet is available in V-band connection for Stock, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 2+, any aftermarket turbo that uses the stock connection (RB, Pure, TTE, ETC. It is also available in Hose barb connection for our GC, GC Lite line up., as well as with 1.5″-2″ silicone adapters to fit MMP turbos.

Turbo inlet pipes serve two very distinct, and differing, purposes. On one hand, the optimization of a turbo inlet pipe will encourage better turbo efficiency and responsiveness by allowing the turbo to ingest more air by way of an unobstructed and larger volume flow path. On the other, you have a more visceral benefit that some may argue is equally important than that of efficiency/flow optimization --- increased sound. No matter which of the distinct purposes is favored, Dinan will deliver on both. Regardless of application, a Dinan turbo inlet replaces the weak, and failure-prone, plastic factory inlet with a more robust carbon fiber one. CNC machined fittings are utilized to ensure proper fitment and guarantee installation as a direct replacement to the OEM inlet. Beyond material and fitment however are the improvements to the characteristics of the primary element in the system, the pipe itself. The stock turbo inlet has incorporated additional features (multiple in some cases) that introduce flow restrictions and turbulence while also reducing turbo noises. All of which are unwanted but easily rectified by removing the various resonators and enlarging (and optimizing) the path for a more uniform flow. The result is an inlet that delivers not only more air and allows the turbo to be more efficient (work less) but also provides the oft-desired amplification to the turbo induction soundtrack.
