If you encounter fuel pressure loss or starting issues despite a functioning engine and spark, consider replacing this unit—a common culprit in such situations. This fuel pressure pump with a level sensor, mounted inside the fuel tank, is the solution to restore your Mini's engine operation.
It's an effective method to diagnose a faulty rear fuel pump when there's a front High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) in place. Simply check if you can hear the rear fuel pump prime when opening the door or unlocking the car. Listen for a high-pitched, brief whining noise originating from the fuel tank, lasting only a couple of seconds. If absent, it indicates an issue with the primary rear fuel pump.
