Macht Schnell's aluminum bushing kit will breathe new life into aging 1M's and M3's, affixing the car's rear subframe and differential to the chassis. Rubber subframe bushings in the E9x M3 and E82 1M from the factory are soft, and yield under hard driving resulting in ever-changing suspension geometry and alignment specs. By limiting the movement of both the car's subframe and differential, these solid bushings will give the rear of the car a tremendously planted and confident feel.

The E82 and E90/E92 subframes have an inherent weakness in the rear subframe - the mounts are too soft for the power and torque these cars are capable of. The subframe is the heart of a BMW's rear suspension. As torque is transmitted through the differential and axles and as the tires grip the road, the subframe mounts are working to keeping everything in line. That's a tough task to hold when torque is increased with bigger boost (335i) or even mild tweaks (M3). While the M3 subframe mounts are a great upgrade for the non-M chassis these factory BMW Motorsport subframe mounts go one step further.

These Motorsport/Group N rear subframe bushings are a direct replacement upgrade over the stock mounts. They are rubber to conform to the rules of the Group N racing class - so they are still acceptable for street use as long as extra ride harshness can be tolerated. The rear subframe has to come down from the car for these mounts to be pressed in. So now is the perfect time to do other work as well - check out our other Motorsport Race bushings or M3 upgrades.

Price is for the set of 4 mounts.

These are Gargistic's original poly rear subframe bushings and are modified replacements that will not only reduce play in the rear suspension components substantially compared to the old and mushy OEM rubber bushings, but the "raised" design will move the subframe up 12mm to help correct some of the unwanted camber and toe that comes from lowering an E30. This has a similar effect to raising the suspension so the rear geometry resembles that of a stock height E30. The 12mm raised bushing's average geometry correction (camber and toe) is from -5 degrees to -1.5 degrees depending on your suspension setup. These bushings are slightly stiffer than the OEM units which will cause a tiny bit more NVH to be transferred through the chassis, but the benefits greatly outweigh the small sacrifice in comfort. 80A is the softest poly bushing in Garagistic's lineup and are perfect for a street performance E30 that will see the occasional autocross or track day. We highly recommend professional installation as these will require a press to install as well as remove your old bushings NOTE: When installing Garagistic raised subframe bushings, the differential mount will no longer line up with the mounting provision on the chassis, but there are a couple of solutions for this! The first option is to install extended studs and spacers onto the differential. This will effectively space the differential back down 12mm from the raised subframe back into the factory position. This will allow the use of a standard centered differential bushing and maintains the factory driveline geometry. The second option is to simply run an offset differential bushing. This will allow the differential to be mounted to the subframe in the factory orientation and the repositioned hole in the differential bushing to line up with the factory bracket. This will change the driveline geometry in the rear! Garagistic have used both methods with success on street and track applications. The OE thrust plate is more than just a belly panel that covers your oil pan; it plays a crucial role in chassis rigidity, impact safety, and handling dynamics. BMW emphasizes that a vehicle should not be driven or moved without the thrust panel in place due to its importance.

Inspired by BMW's upgrade of the front bumper carrier on the E46 M3 from aluminum to Kevlar during their LCI update, we have made a similar enhancement to the thrust plate with our RKP Carbon Front Thrust Panel.

Product Details:

Multi-layered for optimal rigidity and durability 20% stiffer and 50% lighter than the OE panel Reflective exhaust heat shielding included Replaces the large, heavy aluminum OE panel
