Our Turner Motorsport rear shifter bushing is a precision-engineered solution designed to eliminate excessive deflection in the factory BMW G8X shift carrier assembly. The OEM rubber bushing introduces unwanted compliance that translates to a vague shifter feel, imprecision under load, and potential gear misalignment during aggressive driving. This polyurethane and billet aluminum replacement addresses that with a focused approach to both material selection and mechanical function.
Our engineer replaced the soft rubber isolator with a 70A durometer polyurethane bushing housed in a CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum body. The result is a significant reduction in bushing deflection while retaining the necessary articulation for BMW’s dual-bushing shift carrier design. Strategically placed relief cuts in the poly insert allow controlled movement without compromising rigidity where it matters most, translating to a more direct, confident shift feel without introducing harsh NVH into the cabin.
By maintaining stock geometry and compatibility with OEM components, this bushing installs as a direct replacement for BMW part #25118623459, with no modification required. Ideal for spirited street driving, track use, or anyone seeking a more mechanical and connected shift experience.

Shifter slop is a common complaint among all BMW models. Some of that play comes from the bushings where the shifter carrier mounts to the transmission. The original rubber carrier bushings don't last very long and when they get too soft the shifter flops around. These Delrin bushings have almost no deflection and will last much longer than the factory rubber, giving you precise shifting for many years.
Note: this is only one part of the shift linkage and there may be other components that need replacing to improve shifting feel.
New carrier bushing pins are included.
