Driveshaft Assemblies
Responsible for transferring power from the transfer case to the front differential, the front driveshaft experiences wear and tear over time, leading to play in its universal joints. This wear often results in a noticeable driveline vibration at higher speeds.
As the universal joints are non-serviceable components, replacing the entire driveshaft assembly is the recommended solution. Febi-Bilstein provides a cost-effective and high-quality reproduction unit designed to meet your performance needs.
For a durable and reliable repair of your front driveshaft, opt for Febi-Bilstein to ensure lasting results.
This is a 1-piece Chromoly conversion for the BMW E46 (6-Speed Manual Transmission ONLY, will not fit SMG).
The shaft is 3" x .083" DOM tube with billet aluminum plates to convert the small bolt pattern on the factory transmission to use larger 1310 U-Joint and a 108mm CV to mount to the differential, which will eliminate any possible pinion angle issues. This shaft weighs 25 pounds and since there is no hanger bearing, it will make the car seem more athletic and give it a smoother power transfer.
Unlike other aftermarket shafts for BMW's this shaft features a slider system that will let the shaft move in and out during racing and chassis flex. This shaft is now being balanced on a new 9500RPM balancer to ensure a perfectly balanced shaft. Comes complete with precision machined front and rear conversion plates and all necessary hardware for installation.
The Driveshaft Shop has been manufacturing heavy duty replacement driveshafts for street and track vehicles around the world for the last thirty years. Every single shaft is dynamically balanced at over 9000 RPMs to ensure unbeatable reliability. With materials such as Carbon Fiber, Aluminum, and Chromoly The Driveshaft Shop has a solution for you no matter what the application.
