Developed wholly from the ground up, the Dinan Power Control Unit (PCU) is an evolutionary step in Dinan in-line tuning models based off over a decade of lessons learned in the category. At its core the PCU is like its precursors and installs in between select sensors and the ECU, adjusting these signals in order to achieve increased performance the stock programming is unable to approach. However, what sets the PCU apart is its integration into more than just the fundamental boost sensors but also additional connections--inclusive of OBDII. The result is a more capable system that can do so much more than just increase power. Live monitoring of vehicle health via logging, customizable gauges, and code reading/clearing, among others, are now possible ensuring a seamless tuning experience even a novice can be comfortable with.

The Dinan PCU is controlled by a free Bluetooth app, available for both iOS and Android, and is home to all the potent features the device offers. Equipped with 5 different pre-set performance levels, in addition to stock, you can choose to select your desired output and enjoy more power for a true install-and-forget experience, or you can opt to engage in the more advanced features at your fingertips. Boost by gear customization, as an example, allows you to limit power delivery as you see fit in lower gears ensuring optimum traction and a perfect launch. Where the PCU shines however is in data acquisition and monitoring that gives insight into the vehicle's overall health and makes certain your tuned vehicle is always running at peak potential.

Safety and reliability have been cornerstones of the Dinan brand for generations and not only does the Dinan PCU not hinder any factory safeguards or emissions controls but incorporates its own safeties as well. Going one step beyond our own internal protections, the PCU also grants the end user the ability to monitor up to 20 different engine parameters in real-time via customizable in-app gauges for verification of worry-free operation. Those same parameters can also be logged/viewed in app (or exported to CSV) for further scrutiny if desired.

SKU variations / Warranty: The Dinan S58 PCU is available with a standard 2-YR product-only warranty (Dinan S58 PCU–D440-0200) or a factory matching 4-YR/50k mile warranty (Dinan+ S58 PCU–D440-0200-W) that covers both consequential damages as well as labor reimbursement. Functionally, the units are identical but carry different warranty terms. In the case of the factory matching warranty Dinan+ PCU, the warranty ONLY applies to the first VIN the unit is installed on. Successive VIN’s will not be granted warranty coverage from Dinan.

A simple Plug-and-Play system, this small boost controller is the perfect way to monitor your boost levels and make adjust with ease via a Bluetooth connection to either your Android or Apple device. Installation is simple, connecting to just a single sensor. Once installed this small, but powerful, package works in tandem with the DME re-mapping fuel, boost levels, and timing to get the highest performance possible out of your engine, giving you a gain of up to 30hp and 40ft/lb of torque for the 2.0L B46/48 engine or up to 20hp and 40ft/lb of torque for the 1.5L B38 engine.

Want to make adjustments? The Bluetooth connection allows you to turn up or down boost pressure levels on the fly with just a slide of your thumb! Or, for a bit more control, you can select from one of the optional 3 presets: Sport, Sport+, and Race. Night out on the town? Set the system to Valet Mode to limit the amount of boost and prevent someone from going on a thrilling joy-ride. All of these features are easily controlled from the free app for both Android and Apple Phones. Another great perk of this app is its live boost monitor, letting you see what you can already feel similarly to the iDrive sport gauge system.

Not only does this connection method offer a simplified install but also effectively utilizes the factory DME, in tandem with itself, in order to re-map boost, fueling, and timing for optimal performance. Once installed DINANTRONICS Sport enjoys connectivity to various smartphone devices courtesy of its built-in Bluetooth Smart system. From the free app one has the freedom to reduce stock boost for valet duties or crank up the boost all the way up to the "race" setting for maximum enjoyment… or anywhere in between. Regardless of what setting is chosen there is a power level for everyone. Also within the app the end user has access to a live boost monitor which streams boost data in real time to the phone very similar in appearance to the sport gauges on the iDrive. Not only will you be able to feel the difference but now you can see it as well!
