Do you have an early model transmission with the crank sensors on the bellhousing? Maybe you have a late 325is with the crank sensor on the front of the engine, or maybe you have a 1988 super ETA. No matter which E30 model you have, our flywheel is the perfect choice for you.

During the engineering process we encountered the full spectrum of M20 and flywheel combinations. Early cars with bellhousing crank sensors, late cars with front mounting crank sensors and even a super ETA. On this adventure we found both early and late single mass flywheels and even the dual mass that we thought for sure was just a myth. At first we were hesitant that we could make one flywheel to fit them all but with the persistence of our engineering team(fleet of E30 enthusiasts) we can proudly say our M20 flywheel does in fact fit all engine and transmission applications you can think of.

This braided stainless steel line replaces the stock hydraulic hose connecting your clutch slave cylinder to the clutch master cylinder. There are several deficiences with rubber, especially as it ages - when new the rubber expands and swells under pressure and the pedal can feel spongy. As rubber ages and is exposed to extreme temperatures the rubber can harden and even shrink (common on brake hoses), which results in a stiff pedal. Rubber clutch lines do not stand up to the stresses of hard use. ECS Exact-Fit stainless reinforced clutch lines provide more confident and dependable shifting by maintaining consistent line pressure, long lasting corrosion resistance, and increased protection from failure. These lines are reinforced with braided stainless steel mesh, affording superior expansion resistance. This resistance to expansion creates a firmer pedal, and a more direct clutch pedal feel. The signature red polymer coating provides additional protection from the elements and abrasion.

Some modifications to your vehicle may not produce power to create gains in the overall performance of your driving. When you add a "Po' Boy" clutch stop to your BMW the performance gain is directly felt in the driving experience.

The ECS clutch stop allows the driver to fine tune the position of the clutch pedal to closely match the engagement point for precise, quicker shifting. The adjustment range found in this product can be set to the stock engagement point or can be adjusted to follow the wear of the clutch.  Meaning your new experience will never change all the way to the end of the clutch life and can be reset to enjoy the next clutch.

Note: This modification might require some slight modification to the clutch switch mounting bracket, which can be bent slightly by hand.

Requires shorter flywheel bolts - 8x (P# 11227805885) - T#12322

Lightweight flywheels have proven themselves to be a worthwhile performance enhancement. But with the quicker throttle response and horsepower improvement comes one serious drawback: flywheel chatter. Without the dual-mass flywheel's rubber isolators, a lightweight aluminum flywheel has more rattle than stock. ECS has designed this flywheel using chrom-moly steel and it weighs almost ten pounds less than the stock DMF but not as extreme as full aluminum flywheels. The steel helps dampen vibration and noise so you get near-factory refinement and most of the benefits of a lightweight flywheel: quicker throttle response, better reliability, and more power to the wheels. This flywheel requires the E34 M5 sprung hub clutch kit.

Modern flywheels are built with additional components that are designed to dampen and minimize vibrations from the engine and transmission. Weight has increased and reliability has decreased. With additional weight more energy is required for it to move. A lightweight flywheel does away with the dual mass design and its additional mass so more energy can be diverted to where it counts most - moving the car. The flywheel and clutch is one of the first areas that engine builders address when making the rotating assembly lighter for race engines. The dampening effect is just not needed on cars that are focused on performance. And with a single-mass flywheel the unreliable DMF design is eliminated.

Paired with a modified geometry flywheel, the E34 M5 style clutch is ideally suited for most E36, E46, and others using the same powertrain. On the contrary, you might be in the market for an upgraded clutch to handle your modified engine/forced induction builds. An SFI approved single mass flywheel is recommended for this application to get optimal performance. This clutch system is designed for the racing climate. The pressure plate is precision balance for vibration free operation at high RPM. The pressure plate fulcrum is altered for a positive disengagement and a quick shift. The disc is engineered with a Dual Damped design to provide accurate control when accelerating through corners. The friction material is a hybrid using a full face Feramic (Sintered Iron) lining on the flywheel side and a high metal content Organic lining on the pressure plate side. Engagement is positive yet buffered due to the high graphite content unique to Feramic facings.
