The factory BMW shocks typically only last about 50 or 60 thousand miles before they wear out and start failing. Failed, leaking or lifeless old shocks make your BMW feel unsettled, cause uneven tire wear and can even be dangerous. Your BMW's shocks are a critical part of the suspension system, and should keep your tires planted on the road. If your shocks haven't been replaced in 60, 80 or 100 miles, you are definitely due for a new set.

These are the best rear shock mounts that we have found for the E30, E36, E46, Z3 & E85 Z4! Featuring CNC-machined billet aluminum mounting base with a replaceable urethane bushing (replacement bushings are just $15 and are changed in minutes!). These mounts are excellent for either street or track because of their low NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness). Plus, the superior design will far outlast the life of stock mounts - maybe even the car itself. You'll never think twice about your shock mounts again! These shock mounts are a direct replacement of the stock mounts so they fit all shocks with the BMW-standard 10mm shock shaft, including all factory and OEM shocks (Boge, Sachs, etc), H&R coil overs, Bilstein shocks and PSS, PSS9, PSS10 coil overs (except the B16 Ride Control Kit). This is sold as a package with new shock mount gaskets, washers, and Nyloc nuts.

Must re-use factory cupped washers!

A 5-piece set of new OEM rear upper and lower shock mounts to complete your shock install or replace broken mounts (RSM). The top mounts on the shocks for the E82 1-series and E90/E91/E92/E93 3-series consist of 4 pieces -
A. rear upper-top shock mounts, 33506771737

D. rear upper supporting cup, 33526764418 (sits over bumpstop)
In addition, there is a lower shock mount to locate the shock to the suspension (installs on spring arm), 33526768544.

That's a lot of rubber that takes constant deflecting and absorbing of cornering forces and impacts from bumps, potholes, etc. Replacing the RSMs is key to maintaining a quiet and comfortable ride. Price is for all 5 pieces.

One often overlooked piece is the upper strut bearing and mount. This is the top mount for your struts and provides a solid platform for your front suspension. If worn, the bearings within this mount make noise, there is slop from worn rubber, and it can shorten the life of your shocks. To get the most out of your new suspension setup, it's recommended that you replace all parts that are known to fail. The upper strut mount provides a locating point for the top of the front struts. It contains a rubber-isolated bearing that allows the strut shaft to move independently from the rest of the suspension - a critical component for the suspension to be quiet and effective. The rubber also absorbs vibrations and impact harshness, helping to keep unwanted noise and harshness from reaching the steering wheel.
