This is a common failure item which can cause a check engine light, and rough engine running on the M52/S52 engines (328, M3, 528 thru 98, Z3 2.8, & M Roadster/Coupe thru 2000). If you have received an engine fault code suggesting "cam shaft reference sensor" or similar, this is most likely the cuprit. Once replaced, you will need to clear the fault code. We recommend replacing the cam position sensor o-ring at the same time.

If your battery cables have become worn or frayed, or the IBS sensor has gone bad, its time for a replacement. BMW use the IBS, or Intelligent Battery Sensor, to determine not only the state of charge but also the batteries health and life expectancy. This sensor monitors the position of the Valvetronic eccentric shaft and feeds data back to the ECU. The common issue with this sensor is that it gets contaminated with oil and fails. It doesn't give a fault code or check engine light, however. What you would notice is sluggish driving, hesitation, poor performance, jerky shifts from an automatic, and other drivability issues. These types of issues are typically diagnosed as ignition coils (which are their own issue altogether) but this sensor may also be faulty.
The eccentric shaft sensor is located at the front of the cylinder head and is only accessible with the valve cover off. It's easy to check for oil by removing the engine trim cover (the outer cover with the BMW roundel), unplug the sensor, and look inside. If oil is present inside, or even on the valve cover itself, the sensor is likely contaminated or ready to fail. You can wipe or clean the oil from sitting inside the sensor but it will come back.
If you're planning this job make sure you have our Valve Cover Overhaul Kit, which includes a new seal for the eccentric sensor as well as the rest of the valve cover and Valvetronic gaskets. You can add the valve cover set from the options below.

This is the OEM VDO fuel pump and fuel level sensor for most E82 and E9X cars. If your gas gauge is not reading correctly, or not at all, it's probably the level sensor on this pump. Unfortunately, the level sensor is part of the pump assembly and must be replaced as a whole. This fuel pump fits nearly all E82, E90, E92, and E93 turbo and non-turbo cars.

This is a high quality replacement OEM VDO Mass Air Sensor.The MAF controls the amount of fuel that goes through the injectors based on the volume of air coming through the intake. If your vehicle is giving you a MAF code, replace it immediately to ensure you get the best gas mileage and performance. It is common for this part to fail slowly and cause poor fuel mileage and hampered performance. When it fails completely, the vehicle will stutter and stall as it falls into a limp mode. One way to check if your MAF is bad is to unplug the connector before starting your car. If it idles well (compared to a previous poor idle), your MAF needs replaced. If you let this maintenance part go, your fuel economy will suffer as too much fuel is going into the engine and not being burned. A great way to give your vehicle an efficiency boost.

For engine and turbocharger reliability, JMTC recommends a 3.0" or larger downpipe/exhaust size for the GTD turbochargers. Please avoid using the stock downpipe or stock-sized catalytic converter.
The OEM intake boot can be used with the removal of the inner sleeve for N14 engines. For N18 engines, the OEM boot at the turbo connection will need to be heated and expanded slightly, which can be done with a heat gun. This turbocharger also fits AEM intake, NM Eng intake, and Forge Intake (Boot). Please note that the hose might need to be warmed and stretched over with a hose expander.
