The subframe provides mounting for your rear suspension. The subframe connects to the body with bushings to absorb vibration at all mounting locations. These bushings absorb any vibration that would normally be transmitted to the cabin and keep the subframe solid. They also provide a solid mounting location to keep everything tight. If there is excessive vibration in your cabin or a clunk or knock when going over bumps, the problems may be your subframe bushings. By replacing them with new units, everything will stay tighter and provide a more secure mounting location for your entire rear suspension. These Meyle pieces will go right into the stock location to quiet everything down. With the same hardness as stock bushings, no excessive vibration will be transmitted to the cabin.

AAF's skid plates have proven their durability on the track. Made from precision cut steel plate, welded in house at AAF, and Powder coated for the most robust surface finish. The AAF E30 Skid Plate is a MUST-HAVE for all PRO3 and E30 Race cars. This skid plate does not use steering rack bolts, so the skid plate can be taken on and off without removing critical bolts or changing wheel alignment like other skid plates. Made specifically for an M20, (with a dimpled relief for the oil drain port, and strong gussets on both sides of the oil pan) but can be used on any E30. Includes a nut plate for ease of installation. Comes with all required hardware. Some drilling required.

The heart of the rear suspension, the subframe (or carrier) mounts located the entire rear suspension to the car. There are four mounts in total and bolt up into the rear floor. Worn subframe mounts are one of the leading contributors to rear floor-subframe failure. As the mounts flex, so does the sheetmetal of the chassis, which will fatigue the sheetmetal and crack the spot welds. Therefore, replacement of the subframe mounts is critical and a must when doing the subframe reinforcement or repair. This kit comprises OEM Lemforder and Meyle HD rubber subframe mounts. Solid aluminum mounts are also available with very little increase in NVH.
