Models produced up to September 2002 require the M series style coil, while those manufactured after September 2002 use N series style coils. MSD Performance Coil Pack for MINI

Before ordering, check whether you need round or flat pin connectors for your MINI's coil pack. The type of pin is determined by the connectors that link the coil to the wiring harness. To check, slide the red locking tab to the right, press down on the tab, and pull the connector off the coil. Examine the pins to see if they are flat or round. Reattach the connector by pushing it back on until it clicks, then slide the red locking tab back to the locked position.
