Responsible for transferring fluid to the slave cylinder to engage and disengage the clutch, a worn unit can affect pedal feel and performance. Swap yours out and eliminate that pesky squeaky piston for good.

The clutch master cylinder is the starting point of your clutch’s hydraulic system, translating pedal pressure into fluid movement that reaches the slave cylinder and engages the clutch pack. As these units age, they can develop leaks—making replacement the most effective way to restore proper clutch operation. Brake and hydraulic fluid are highly corrosive, and over time, they can break down the rubber seals inside the master cylinder. When these seals fail, fluid pressure drops, leading to poor clutch engagement and possible fluid leakage past the seals. Replacing a worn clutch master cylinder can dramatically improve shifting feel and drivability. Note: When installing a new unit, you’ll need to bleed the system to remove air from the lines, and you may lose some fluid in the process. Be sure to have fresh brake fluid on hand to top off and restore full clutch performance.
