The clutch lever rides on the pivot pin and controls the motion of the pressure plate. If your fork is bent or damaged, your clutch will NOT engage or disengage properly.
This is the factory clutch release fork for many BMW models with manual transmissions. The throw out bearing rides on the clutch release fork. While replacing other clutch components it may be a good idea to replace the fork along with the throw out bearing.
