Being an N54/N55 owner you know that oil temps can get out of hand leaving you with an anxious feeling and the needle a little too close to the red on your gauge cluster. What if you could get the oil flowing faster, maintain lower temperatures, and still have proper engine warm-up?

Upgrade your N54/N55 engine with our Billet oil cooler housing, replacing the underperforming factory-cast aluminum unit. Engineered for enhanced performance and a blended aesthetic, our Turner oil cooler housing features an OEM+ black anodized finish and our own engineered lower-temperature thermostat. Unlike makeshift solutions like thermostat bypass kits, our housing integrates an OE thermostat, ensuring a gradual yet expedited engine warm-up process, similar to factory settings but faster.

Out goes the factory 110-degree Celsius (230F) thermostat, replaced by our 70-degree Celsius (158F) counterpart. This new thermostat triggers oil flow a significant 72 degrees Fahrenheit earlier than the factory version. This early flow translates into prolonged lower oil temperatures for both the oil cooler and engine, maintaining a happier, healthier engine with consistently lower operating temperatures.

Our upgraded oil cooler housing was designed, engineered, tested, and quality inspected by our Research and Development team at Turner. Nothing but the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long-term product testing.

When we designed this catch we wanted to have the most function options available, the best separation method, and the easiest to service. The Turner engineered catch cans offer a pre-setup design based ion desired flow direction, however this does not limit you to this flow. The inner baffle orientation can be easily adjusted to flow in both directions in case you decide to move this catch can to a different vehicle. A 4 chamber system  baffle system inside the catch can was engineered to create multiple changes in the direction of airflow within the separator to cause oil droplets to fall out of suspension before exiting the catch can. Having a closed / recirculated design reduces oil ingestion and promotes cleaner emissions and odor-less operation.

Our catch can was also designed with the idea that the cans fill level can easily be checked with a top mounted dipstick and an optional use bottom drain hole. The drain hole can be used with a valve and hose to be mounted at a lower area of the vehicle so when you're doing an oil change you can drain the catch can.

MINI R55 to R61 Magnetic Engine Oil Drain Plug M16X1.5 removes abrasive metal particles from drivetrain fluid to ensure longevity. The magnet attracts and holds minute abrasive and ferrous metal particles, preventing their circulation through lubrication systems. Metal particles can appear in lubricating or hydraulic systems due to normal wear, machining residues, sub-surface casting flaws, and stress usage. High oil temps are one of the triggers that causes the engine electronics to curtail boost, cut power, and possibly switch to limp mode. The stock oil system was not designed with enough cushion for running more boost. We have seen limp modes come from stock vehicles on the race track. To prevent limp modes and reduced performance, Dinan has developed this oil cooler kit with much more surface area than stock.

The Dinan oil cooler kit fits in the stock location behind the front spoiler on the passenger side of the car. This is an ideal location to maximize the ram air effect from the front bumper. New air ducts and vents into the wheel well help improve air flow. PTFE hoses with race-quality fittings and all hardware are included for install. Some Dinan oil cooler kits can even be used to upgrade cars that never came with an oil cooler.
