This new thermostat triggers oil flow a significant 72 degrees Fahrenheit earlier than the factory version. This early flow translates into prolonged lower oil temperatures for both the oil cooler and engine, maintaining a happier, healthier engine with consistently lower operating temperatures.

Over time, the factory plastic check valve degrades, allowing oil to drain completely out of the housing and back into the oil pan while sitting.
