The Burger Motorsports V2 billet aluminum oil filter cover is a metal upgrade that directly replaces your weak OE plastic cap for greater protection, better cooling, ease of removal/install, and looks great under the hood. The built-in 21mm hex and a 3/8" drive socket wrench fitting that does not require a special removal/install tool like the factory cap. Uses the OE oil filter, filter housing o-ring, and filter cage. You can use a 3/8" inch drive ratchet or torque wrench to install and remove. The built-in 32mm hex head does not require a special removal/install tool like the factory cap. Uses the OE oil filter, filter housing o-ring, and filter insert. Anodized for protection. This quality part is a must for any serious BMW owner. Install: After removing the OEM oil filter cap, remove the filter and be sure to remove the plastic oil filter bypass valve and transfer it to the new BMS billet oil filter cap. Be sure to replace the exterior o-ring gasket also when installing. A one inch square of this material flows an incredible 1.9 gallons of oil per minute at only 1 PSI pump pressure. The adhesive used in the filter assembly process is good to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, far above normal engine operating temperatures. A super strength nickel-plated neodymium rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The sophisticated bypass is engineered for proper differential pressures and consistent operation, delivering a greater percentage of filtered oil while being very easy to clean. The twist lock design assures positive filter element placement and allows for easy disassembly, inspection, and cleaning. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine. Finally, the filter housing is carved out of solid 6061T6 billet aluminum, which not only looks trick but aids in dissipating heat.
