Over time, MINI's shock towers can develop a convex shape, disrupting suspension alignment and leading to a noticeable pull to one side. Repeatedly, we've heard the same complaint: strut towers mushroom after heavy impacts from shocks and low aspect ratio tires. Initially, the shock towers take on a barely visible convex shape, but if compared to the original sheet metal, you'll find the horizontal plane has moved as much as 3/8" upwards, making alignment nearly impossible.
This issue often shows up as a slight pull to the left or right, depending on which strut tower is affected. The M7 Strut Tower Brace's end mounting plates solve this problem by sandwiching the sheet metal and shock top plate, creating a reinforced surface that won't bend, even during hard impacts.

When an E9X is lowered beyond the limits of just lowering springs, the rear wheels toe-in excessively. This excessive rear toe leads to premature wear, that many people attribute to an increase in negative camber. It has become a common belief that an extremely low vehicle will wear the tires wrong as a matter of consequence. It has become standard practice to go as low as you can and proceed to replace your tires every five to ten thousand miles. Whats more is that when the vehicle reaches a certain ride height, the factory arms become maxed out and there is no way to compensate and dial in the proper toe.
