Limited Slip Differentials

BMW stopped using truly limited-slip differentials with the advent of the E9X and E60 platforms. The advantages between an open and limited-slip differential are seconds on the track and a massive increase in corner exit grip. Tuner motorsports offer many different types of LSDs' to suit your driving style and budget.

Convert your open differential to a locked differential without the costly expense of an LSD replacement.

Get your car ready for aggressive track driving or drifting without purchasing or replacing your differential. The weld-in plates strengthen your diff and allow both wheels to engage simultaneously giving you a more predictable and capable track car.

An open differential allows the wheels to spin at different speeds and sends power to the wheel with the least amount of traction. This may be a good feature for your regular everyday driver but limits you on the track. The weld-in plates simulate a driving experience similar to a limited-slip differential allowing you to put power to both wheels in a low traction area or initiate drifts.

Features and benefits:

Added strength to your differential gears
Converts from open differential
Fabricated to fit in the spider gears for an easier weld and increased confidence
Made from 7 gauge mild steel, formed to fit

As Used on our Project Mini Cooper S
The Quaife torque biasing differential enables your car to accelerate quicker and corner faster. How? By getting the power to the ground! The Quaife Differential powers both drive wheels under nearly all conditions, instead of just one. With an ordinary open differential, standard on all MINI's, a lot of precious power is wasted during wheelspin under acceleration. This happens because the open differential shifts power to the wheel with less grip (along the path of least resistance). The Quaife, however, does just the opposite. It senses which wheel has the better grip, and biases the power to that wheel. It does this smoothly and constantly, and without ever completely removing power from the other wheel.
