Your BMW's drive belts are wear items, and will degrade and crack over time. Don't wait until you have a belt failure... don't get stranded! Replacing your BMW's belts, such as the alternator belt, power steering belt, air conditioning AC belt, or serpentine belt is a low cost insurance policy to preventing a break down -- or worse, engine damage. We recommend checking your belts every 10,000 miles. If your belts have excessive cracks, dry rot, missing teeth and/or grooves, are cause noise, it's time for new ones.
While also inspecting your serpentine belts, also check for wear or resistance in the pulleys. The tensioner pulley and deflection pulley are the primary sources for belt squealing. The rubber-isolated pulleys can also break apart, leading to total belt failure. We sell the tensioner and deflection pulleys for the M50 engine family used in the E34, E36, E39, E46, X5, Z3, and Z4.
Introducing our Turner Motorsport Crank Seal Guard – the essential shield for your BMW's engine integrity. Safeguarding the heart of your vehicle, this meticulously designed guard offers robust protection for the crank seal concealed behind the harmonic balancer.
Considered an indispensable maintenance component for your BMW, the Crank Seal Guard acts as a crucial defense against a potential and preventable catastrophe involving your accessory belt. Facing the reality of potential oil or coolant leaks in your engine, this guard becomes a reliable barrier, preventing these fluids from reaching the accessory belt. The consequence of a compromised belt includes walking, slipping, fraying, and rubber particles finding their way behind the harmonic balancer and into the crank seal – a scenario that can lead to severe engine failure.
Let's be honest, engine leaks are a common occurrence, and whether your engine is currently leaking or not, the Crank Seal Guard is a proactive measure against future threats. The wear and tear on the accessory belt due to oil and coolant exposure can result in slipping, tearing, or, worst-case scenario, belt snapping – posing a significant risk to your engine's well-being.
Prepare your car for the long haul and protect the vital components, It's not a matter of "if" but "when" your belt will become a problem, and our Crank Seal Guard is your proactive solution. Rigorously tested on N52/N54/N55 and S55 for 100% confirmed fitment, it stands as a reliable guardian for your engine's health. Invest in the protection your BMW deserves with the Turner Motorsport Crank Seal Guard.

Group A racecars were the top of their class in both touring car and rally racing. Heavily modified and extremely fast these cars set out to demonstrate the best of what a manufacturer could do on the racetrack. It was the predecessor to the current DTM class racing and set a standard for many other divisions of motorsport to follow.
One of the weaker points of the S14 engine, when speaking from a racing standpoint is the belt drive system. While fine for a street going car, a V-belt is not suitable for high RPM applications. On the track, most of your time will be spent in the higher rev range which puts extreme amounts of stress on the factory setup. BMW realised this and came up with a solution that involved doing away with the V belt system and using a 6 rib serpentine style instead.
Extremely resistant to slippage and failure this design holds up much better the abuse of track duty and won't leave you stranded and waiting for tow back to the pit. Additionally, this kit does not accommodate and a/c compressor and the alternator and waterpump are underdriven by way of slightly larger pulleys. Combined, this puts less of a load on the crankshaft which leads to more efficient power delivery to the ground. If you track you E30 M3, this is an essential upgrade and until now was extremely difficult to source. Do not skip this pivotal step in your engine build or overhaul and get a leg up on the competition the Group A way. Please note this kit is special order and in non-returnable
Features:
Kit replaces all engine pulleys and crank damper
Includes 6 rib serpentine belt
Underdriven waterpump and alternator pulleys
Recommended for off road and racing use only
This kit fits the following BMWs: 1986-1992 BMW M3 All
Is your BMW making a chirping or grinding noise at idle? The culprit is frequently a failing alternator decoupler pulley. Unlike a traditional solid pulley, this Overrunning Alternator Pulley (OAP) allows the alternator rotor to "freewheel" when engine speeds drop suddenly. This specialized function protects your BMW drive belt and belt tensioner from excessive snap-back, vibration, and "belt slap."
Prevent Catastrophic Engine Failure
Over time, the internal clutch mechanism can seize or slip, leading to accelerated wear or total serpentine belt failure. On BMW engines, a snapped belt can be ingested through the front main seal, causing catastrophic engine damage. Replacing this pulley is a cost-effective preventative maintenance step that restores smoothness to your accessory drive without the high cost of a complete alternator replacement.
Features & Benefits:
Lowers the load on the drive belt, tensioner, and AC compressor. Stops "belt slap" and rhythmic chirping noises during deceleration and idle. Direct Replacement with high-quality construction ensures perfect fitment and long-term durability. Essential Maintenance for N52 engines
Accessory belt tensioners provide tension to the belt drive system, ensuring the belt is able to properly turn engine accessories without slipping. If your tensioner has failed, replace it with a brand-new unit to ensure proper water pump and alternator functionality.
