From the factory, all BMWs utilize soft rubber or fluid-filled engine mounts. Not only are these mounts prone to degradation, they also allow ample movement of the drivetrain. This translates to looseness in your driveline, commonly associated with missed shifts and a generally isolated feeling.
To improve upon this issue, Black Forest Industries designed these upgraded mounts from the ground up. Their stage one mounts feature a proprietary 65A durometer bushing and bracket/cup design. Maximizing bushing area while minimizing vibration gives this mount the advantage of having the best ride characteristics possible from a urethane mount.

MINI Gen 1 Gearbox Mount Bushing Insert - Race is designed to enhance engine and gearbox stability in MINI Gen 1 Cooper S and JCW models. This polyurethane insert replaces the factory voids, improving throttle response and gear changes by reducing engine and gearbox movement under acceleration and gear shifts.
The engine mounting points on the E46 are stamped sheet metal. Due to this construction, they are notorious for cracking and ripping out over time.
This kit welds onto the front subframe preventing cracks and failure of the engine mounting points. All reinforcement plates are precision laser cut from 14 gauge steel.
