This voltage regulator is a crucial component that controls the alternator's output, preventing overcharging by adjusting the current to maintain a safe range of vehicle voltage, thereby protecting the battery and electrical system. Symptoms of failure include dim lights, battery warnings, or a dead battery, often requiring replacement, which can be internal or external to the alternator.

The camshaft position sensor is essential for assisting the engine DME by monitoring the camshaft's position. The data from this sensor is key to optimizing ignition timing and ensuring smooth engine performance. Often referred to as the CMP sensor, this component is crucial for the overall functionality of the powertrain. A failing camshaft position sensor can cause a range of issues, including engine stumbling, hesitation during acceleration, power loss, and even starting difficulties or complete failure to start.

The camshaft position sensor communicates the position of the camshaft to the computer. This helps the computer to calculate proper spark and fuel control. If you're struggling with CELs, hard starts or no starts, stalling, and/or a rough idle, you may need to replace the cam position sensor.

Ignition coils are key to the efficiency and performance of your BMW. With a faulty coil the spark plug is not burning the air/fuel mixture properly and that can lead to problems anywhere in the engine and exhaust (including catalytic converters and O2 sensors). Problems with one or more coils will cause a fault code, but not always a check engine light. A misfire code may be related to an ignition coil, but could be from other things as well. ometimes, a visual inspection of a coil and coil boot will give an indication of a failure. You can also move coils around to different cylinder banks to see if the misfire code follows a suspect coil. We suggest always having one or two coils on hand to keep as spares.

Free Up Real S65 Power — Engineered the Turner Way Your S65 is already making the power. This kit simply lets you keep more of it. The Active Autowerke Power Pulley Kit for the BMW E9X M3 reduces parasitic drag at the crankshaft, trimming rotational mass and freeing up horsepower that would otherwise be consumed by accessory drive load. The result is a measurable increase in rear-wheel output without sacrificing the balance, cooling capacity, or long-term durability expected from a properly engineered BMW upgrade. The crank pulley is CNC-machined from billet 6061 aluminum and finished with a hard-coat anodize for durability under sustained high-RPM operation. Unlike undersized pulleys that compromise system function, this design maintains proper operating characteristics while delivering real-world gains. Late-2007 production E9X M3 models transitioned to a double-sided (DPK) A/C belt configuration. Rather than forcing a workaround, Active Autowerke developed a proper DPK-compatible solution — including the correct matched belt. Applicable kits also include a spare DPK belt for added insurance. Dyno testing on a Mustang chassis dyno confirms gains of 10–12+ rear-wheel horsepower on an otherwise stock vehicle. Installation is fully reversible and requires no permanent modification. Product Highlights 10–12+ RWHP gain verified on stock S65 engines Complete bolt-on system CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum crank pulley Hard-coat anodized finish for durability Includes correct replacement drive and A/C belts Spare DPK belt included where applicable Compatible with manual and DCT-equipped E9X M3 Reduces parasitic drag and rotational mass Designed to maintain proper operating temperatures Works in conjunction with Active Autowerke performance software Available for single-sided and double-sided (DPK) belt configurations Fitment Information Confirm whether your E9X M3 is equipped with a single-sided or double-sided (DPK) A/C belt prior to ordering to ensure correct application. A properly engineered solution for enthusiasts who want measurable gains while preserving OEM-level refinement and reliability.
