The ECS B48 muffler delete removes the heavy and restrictive factory exhaust muffler and replaces it with a high-flow, straight-through exhaust pipe. This adds a louder exhaust note in a simple, cost-effective way without replacing the entire exhaust system and is fully compatible with the OEM rear valance. The muffler delete creates a noticeable increase in exhaust sound and more exhilarating turbo noise, without adding significant drone at cruising speeds. As an added bonus, our muffler delete shaves off 21.0 lbs., weighing in at only 7.0lbs compared to the OEM muffler at 28.0lbs!

What sounds better than an in-line six-cylinder paired with a race-inspired exhaust setup, the answer is nothing. You have a nimble chassis fitted with an engine that provides more than enough power for spirited street driving or even taking to the track, if the exhaust is still factory you do not know what you are missing out on.
The ECS N52 Muffler & Resonator Delete removes the heavy, restrictive factory muffler and replaces it with a lighter weight, high flow, T304 stainless steel 3.0" exhaust tubing. This exhaust adds a louder exhaust note in a simple, cost-effective way without replacing the entire exhaust system and is fully compatible with the OEM rear valance. This upgrade creates a noticeable increase in exhaust sound, without adding significant drone at cruising speeds. As an added bonus, the ECS muffler delete shaves off about 16 lbs, weighing in at only 22 lbs. OEM units out of the 128 weigh in at around 38lb, a difference you will fully notice when upgrading your exhaust.

What makes the DMS unique?
Like all Rogue Engineering products, the DMS exhaust system is entirely designed and developed in the US in our facility in Hohokus, NJ. By doing the development, fitting, evaluation, and testing here, you're assured a product that not only looks and sounds great but a product you can have installed with confidence.
How much performance should I expect to gain?
In testing, replacing only a muffler or even the complete exhaust system on an E46 yields small measurable gains. Of course, these minute gains may be depicted on a carefully constructed dyno chart. Rogue Engineering looks at an exhaust with reality in mind, designing our exhaust to deliver great looks and sound, with minimal issues of fit. Of course, all of this at an affordable price would be a bonus. These are features that the Rogue Engineering DMS deliver!
For real-world exhaust performance gains, this typically means replacing the largest restriction, the catalytic converters, located in the factory exhaust manifolds. From there, free flow aftermarket catalytic converters could be added downstream, after the exhaust gas velocity had an opportunity to accelerate out of the engine, allowing for the most LEGAL gas velocity allowable. This course of action, however, typically can exceed more than $3000 plus installation.
Replacing the ENTIRE factory exhaust system (resonators and rear muffler) with larger tubing WITHOUT addressing the largest restriction is an exercise in futility. This kind of exhaust "upgrade" will generally cost needless additional installation charges, fit issues (can 6 clamps on an exhaust REALLY fit like factory?), and ultimately, drain your wallet faster than a Bugatti Veyron.

Like the successful E46 M3 Diablo exhaust, the Z4 M Diablo exhaust is designed to compliment the high-revving engine concept which BMW has implemented into the M brand vehicles as of late.
