Looking for more, for less? The all new G2x/G4x x30i PEX Intake delivers all the performance and sound benefits as its carbon fiber sibling -- just with less showmanship -- resulting in the best dollar-per-horsepower B46/B48 intake system available from Dinan. In the quest to be all things to all people at an attractive price point the x30i's have been reduced to a mundane, albeit pragmatic, core with elements devoid of any character both outwardly and inwardly. For example, in stock trim, the 230i/330i/430i comes with a utilitarian and lifeless air box swaddled by seemingly unfinished braces (where applicable) and housing a basic panel filter that is also accompanied by an intake resonator whose job it is to eliminate turbo/intake noises. The same noises that those in the performance world relish. Essentially, BMW has seen fit to give x30i owners an air box that looks uninspiring, flows adequately but not ideally, and emits no noise. The Dinan PEX intake for the platform rights these wrongs and delivers a semi-open intake capable of flowing 58% more air than the stock system resulting in improved throttle response and the elimination of a potential roadblock when opting to pursue a high-powered build (upgraded turbo, fueling, etc.). At the same time revealing an enhanced OEM-like appearance that blends seamlessly with surrounding factory plastic under hood components, and an increase in sound courtesy of the removal of the intake resonator and implementation of a semi-open design. To accomplish the feat in flow that sets the Dinan intake system apart the entire lower box of the system, and not just the lid, has been reworked and enlarged to make use of as much of the available real estate as possible within the engine bay. In turn, this allows a 40% larger, custom, free flowing filter to be housed within and maximum flow to be realized. However, a secondary inlet has always been desired by Dinan in order to effectively fill the volume of the enlarged air box and increased filter surface area. This desire led to a multitude of experiments being conducted on the effectiveness of a possible open-air inlet in the system. With different shapes, locations, and sizes of openings being tested, the goal was to ensure that the added secondary inlet did not cause any unwarranted side effects such as an increase in air temps in the system. This is commonplace with open-air intake systems where overheated engine bay air is employed in the intake tract. The results of these tests showed that the patterned openings present in the final iteration of the box on the opposite side from the engine provided a perfect balance of additional volume to assist the factory snorkel all the while not causing an increase in turbo inlet temperatures. This was the case regardless of testing conditions (single/multiple gear pulls, constant speed, 0-100mph runs, etc.). While the additional flow does not translate to any noteworthy rise in power output for stock or basic bolt-on equipped vehicles, the Dinan intake system does expand the potential of the platforms power ceiling. Put simply, those striving to build a more potent and robust solution, complete with turbo and fueling upgrades, will be allowed to maximize the results without worry of the intake system being a limiting factor. Regardless of the level of build, the secondary air inlets allow the intake system to be more audible so the turbo spool and BOV can be appreciated. A stark difference from Dinan's traditional fully sealed systems where induction noise is not nearly as recognizable. While increased flow and sound are the stars, the modest PEX construction fuses effortlessly into the factory engine bay for a reserved visual that despite basic materials still manages to draw attention. It's an economical solution to form and function for a vehicle that permeates both. Features: Outflows factory intake by 58% or more Enjoyably louder, sportier sound High heat deflection PEX construction and an OEM look Improved throttle response Larger volume air box (60% larger than stock) 40% increase in filter area (stock: 82 in², Dinan: 115 in²) for optimum flow Compatible with all G2x/G4x x30i's with and without factory bracing Quick and easy installation NOTE: This product is NOT LEGAL FOR SALE OR USE IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

The M440i/M340i is an impressive car in terms of performance and style but that is not conveyed when viewing its lackluster stock intake system swaddled by seemingly unfinished strut braces. In stock trim, the M440i/M340i comes with a dry and lifeless airbox housing a basic panel filter that is also accompanied by an intake resonator whose job it is to eliminate turbo/intake noises. The same noises that those in the performance world relish. Essentially BMW has seen fit to give M440i/M340i owners an airbox that looks uninspiring, flows adequately but not ideally, and emits no noise. The exact opposite of what the platform exudes otherwise. The Dinan carbon fiber intake for the platform rights these wrongs and delivers a semi-open intake capable of flowing 58% more air than the stock system resulting in additional top-end power and increased throttle response. At the same time revealing a more aggressive, sporty carbon fiber appearance, and an increase in sound courtesy of the removal of the intake resonator and implementation of a semi-open design. In order to achieve the gains in flow that set the Dinan intake system apart, the entire lower box of the system, and not just the lid, has been reworked and enlarged in an effort to make use of as much of the available real estate as possible within the engine bay. In turn, this allows a 40% larger, custom, free-flowing filter to be housed within and maximum flow to be realized. This was the case regardless of testing conditions (single/multiple gear pulls, constant speed, 0-100mph runs, etc.). With more air being pulled into the system, throttle response is improved and additional power is realized in the form of max gains of +9 WHP / +8 ft-lbs of torque. The secondary air inlets also allow the intake system to be more audible so the turbo spool and BOV can be appreciated. A stark difference from Dinan's traditional fully sealed systems where induction noise is not nearly as recognizable. Not to be outdone by the increased power and sound, the outwardly visible system is made of immaculate carbon fiber so the under the hood appeal is vastly improved over its drab and utilitarian beginnings. A worthy piece to add to an already impressive vehicle. Features: More Power: Max gains of 9 WHP and 8 lb-ft of torque @ 6500 RPM on a completely stock vehicle. Enjoyably louder, sportier sound. Improved throttle response Outflows factory intake by 58% or more. Larger volume airbox (60% larger than stock). 40% increase in filter area (stock: 82 in², Dinan: 115 in²) for optimum flow. Compatible with all G2X MX40i's with and without factory bracing. Quick and easy installation

Airflow efficiency and maximizing the potential of the stock intake design were the keys to development for the Dinan B48/46 intake. Dinan improves on the factory air box system by delivering more cool, dense air. The increased amount of air feeds a larger volume airbox complete with a larger cone filter that elicits a slightly more audible and sporty tone over its stock counterpart. For over 35 years, Dinan has been America's premier tuning company, pioneering advancements in BMW modification while retaining a focus on balanced performance that preserves the original character and driving feel that a BMW offers. When you install a Dinan part on your car, know that it's not only carefully developed and tested, but that Dinan stands behind it with a four-year, 50,000-mile warranty. Dinan believes so fully in their “total package” approach that once your car has been fitted with enough of their parts, they celebrate your conversion from stock to Dinan with an exclusive trunk badge, displayed proudly by BMW enthusiasts everywhere. This intake is worth 3 points toward your Dinan badge.

Upgrade durability, flow and performance with a performance intake system. VTT is proud to announce its Modular Silicone/Billet intake system for the BMW G2X Platform with the B58TU engine. We invested many hours of testing and fitting this kit to get the best fitment, and highest quality. We are very happy with the results. Full disclosure, the factory intake system as far as the airbox is very good, but the intake tract down to the turbo, is full of twists turns, bellows, etc which can cause flow disruption. It also has a silencer which is a restriction as it bypasses air to quiet the intake sound. By removing all of these, and replacing them with our 3'-3.5' Silicone intake tube either to our 6' cone filter or the stock airbox you are removing all of those, and providing a free-flowing optimized air path from the filter or airbox to the turbo. From our testing we found up to 700WHP, the stock airbox is up to the task if stock appearance and sound is what you wish. Once you go over 700WHP, we suggest stepping up to the 6' cone with a built-in velocity stack.
