The CHU0940 includes a high-strength aluminum connector and gasket, while the CHK0940 adds a built-in temperature sensor for easy installation. The CRP Automotive Innovation Council identified the OE plastic connector as a common failure point, often cracking due to repeated thermal cycling and hydrolysis. Hydrolysis, the process of water breaking down plastic or rubber, weakens the material over time, leading to failure. Rein’s upgraded aluminum connectors eliminate these issues, providing enhanced durability and reliability.
