The oil filter housing is pretty self explanitory; It holds the oil filter assembly. Not only does this provide a small amount of cooling but it makes the filter much easier to service.
If your oil filter housing is leaking oil or coolant where it meets the engine, there is a good chance the seals have failed. This Elring gasket set includes all 3 gaskets needed to eliminate leaks at this connection, preventing further oil and coolant loss. Replaces BMW p/n 11429886567 and 11428598028.
