The factory charge pipes are made of plastic, which is fine for stock boost levels but does not hold up well under higher boost levels. The solution is to replace that plastic piece with a hard aluminum one from Evolution Racewerks. 6061 high-grade aluminum not only stands up to whatever you can throw at it, but it looks great at the same time. Don't risk detonating that 400.00 plastic pipe from BMW. Swap yours out and avoid the headache of needing to call a tow-truck or drive home in limp. Features: Increase throttle response and decreases turbo lag. Lightweight High Grade 6061 Aluminum Piping. Replaces the factory soft plastic charge pipe that is prone to breaking under high boost. Retains factory-style o-ring c-clip lock flange. Precision CNC machined MAP sensor and IAT flanges ensure a leak-free connection. Charge Pipe features beaded ends and T-bolt clamps to prevent intercooler piping from coming off from boost. Silicone Hump Hose included. Type III Hard Black Anodizing (for stealth and OEM look). Hard anodizing helps improve the durability of intercooler piping. Resists bent or dented piping. Compatible with the factory electronic diverter valve. Want to install a downpipe on your B58 equipped BMW, but still need to pass emissions? Evolution Racewerks has the answer for you with their B58 Catted downpipe. The Evolution Racewerks Competition Series Catless Downpipes is constructed from 304 stainless steel, featuring mandrel bent piping.  These are 100% TIG welded by in house fabricators and built in the USA! 

The factory turbocharger turbine housing utilizes a V-Band flange which has been duplicated and CNC machined cut out of billet 304 stainless steel. Stainless Steel CNC machined O2 sensor and laser cut brackets are TIG welded using stainless steel rods. The O2 sensor remains positioned at the factory location. Also, since Evolution Racewerks uses a larger 4.5" pipe right after the turbocharger, turbo backpressure is significantly reduced, resulting in less exhaust turbulence and backpressure which again improves throttle response and decreasing turbo lag.
