Among the many reasons enthusiasts flock to the S58 is its unmistakable exhaust character. BMW’s twin-turbocharged inline-six delivers a fierce, motorsport-inspired snarl at wide-open throttle—yet the factory mid-section muffles much of that personality. The stock resonator and restrictive flow path tame the soundtrack, muting the aggressive tone your G8X M3/M4 is capable of producing.

Turner Motorsport set out to change that. Their Resonator Delete transforms the factory system with a direct bolt-on mid-section engineered to free both sound and performance. By removing the bulky OEM resonator, integrating a true x-pipe, and shedding roughly 5 lbs of unnecessary weight, this upgrade enhances exhaust scavenging, sharpens throttle response, and unleashes a deeper, more engaging tone. Best of all, it retains full compatibility with the OEM downpipes and valved rear muffler—delivering a noticeable sound improvement while preserving factory functionality and easy reversibility.

Features:

Deeper, more aggressive exhaust note with added character and minimal drone

X-pipe design promotes efficient exhaust scavenging for improved flow

Maintains OEM valved muffler operation for factory refinement

Approximately 5 lb weight reduction vs. the stock center resonator

Brushed 304 stainless steel construction with clean TIG-welded seams

Design:

1.25 mm-wall brushed 304 stainless steel tubing

76.2 mm (3") diameter

304SS sleeve-style and Accuseal clamps with slip-joint adjustability

Installation:

Installation is as easy as cutting your factory exhaust, raising the new center resonator delete into position, and clamping. Click HERE for Installation Instructions. Product Development:

The left side downpipe on the S58 connects to a "crossover" pipe that runs beneath the transmission and links up with the mid pipes on the left side. Unfortunately, the stock shape of the crossover pipe is oval to create enough clearance underneath the transmission. This alteration from a round tube to an oval causes turbulence within the pipe, leading to a restriction in exhaust flow. CTS Turbo has designed a crossover pipe to eliminate this turbulence that is created by the factory system and ditched the oval design for a round circular design for increased flow and horsepower!
