At Turner, all our Carbon Fiber Intake Systems are top-of-the-line custom-engineered products that we develop in house. Our G8x Intake is no exception. Turner Carbon Fiber Intakes start with a 3D scan of the factory intake and engine bay. Our engineers use these 3D images of the chassis to design the intake in SolidWorks modeling software. Using a Flow Bench, our Intake is then airflow tested against the factory intake, to ensure optimal airflow improvement against stock. The final product is a beautiful and functional Carbon Fiber Intake, CAD designed for perfect integration with the OEM inlet ducting and stock mounting locations and proven to flow better than factory.

Our G8x carbon fiber airbox sport entirely carbon fiber construction, with a removable carbon fiber lid for easy air filter access. Our enclosed carbon fiber intake systems are also proven to lower intake temps vs. open filter intakes. Plus, they further enhance the appearance of the engine bay, by adding more beautiful carbon fiber. The carbon airbox and lid is manufactured using 2X2 twill weave carbon fiber and protected with a gloss finish clear coat for UV resistance. The Best part? The airbox mount in the stock location with all supplied hardware included.

The oval intake tube design matches the OE look, allowing the intake to be used with the factory structural brackets that the intake goes through. However, the cross-sectional area of the Turner Carbon Fiber intake tube is greater than the stock intake tube, with a smooth interior for even better flow. The carbon intake tube is manufactured using 2X2 twill weave carbon fiber, and the intake tube is protected by a gloss finish clear coat for UV protection.

With the oval design of the intake tube, the custom air filter had to be designed for this intake system. The air filter is specially designed to seal against the carbon fiber airbox, eliminating any opening for hot air to enter the airbox! We created a conical hi-flow reusable air filter; featuring 8 ply oiled cotton gauze construction to maximize filtration efficiency. This filter features a Bellmouth (velocity stack) filter flange inlet to reduce turbulence in order to maximize flow.

Overall, the less restrictive intake design allows for more flow to the engine. The Drivers side Stock intake flows 336.2 CFM @ -15 inH20. The Drivers side Turner intake flows 374.3 CFM @ -15 inH20. This is about a 12% increase over stock The Passenger side stock intake flows 274.2 CFM @ -15 inH20.The Passenger side Turner intake flows 296.3 CFM @ -15 inH20. This is about an 8% increase over stock. Flows over 10% more air than factory intake system!

Carbon Fiber Intake Tubes
- Carbon fiber intake tubes replace factory plastic turbo inlet pipes. The carbon tubes feature a smoother interior without corrugations for increased flow.

- The integrated carbon flange allows secure mounting of the tubes to the carbon air boxes.

- The intake tubes are manufactured using 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber for a great look in the engine bay.

- The inlet tubes are protected by a gloss finish clear coat for UV protection.

- The carbon intake tubes are connected to the turbo by a 4-ply reinforced silicone coupler and 6061-T6 black anodized aluminum flange that utilizes the factory o-ring and retaining clip.

Air Boxes
- Carbon fiber airboxes are manufactured using 2X2 twill weave carbon fiber and protected with a gloss finish clear coat for UV resistance to match the intake tube.

- Air box mounts in stock location with supplied hardware.

Air Filter

The M3 has undergone significant evolution over the years, with each new iteration bringing something new to the table. Enhancing the S58 was something Mishimoto set their sights on soon after acquiring a G80 of their own, the first project being a performance air intake system. The BMW S58 G8X M3/4 Carbon fiber intakes! BMW did a wonderful job designing these intakes and we have found they are only slightly restrictive at elevated power levels, mostly due to the secondary filter inside, and the factory paper filter. The factory setup is EXTREMELY efficient with only a couple of small changes. With this in mind, VTT decided to just take their cues, and make factory-style carbon fiber intake tops with no secondary filters, and high flow cotton pre-oiled filters. These are 8 layers of 100% carbon not a single layer wrapped over plastic and they are 1.3MM thick with the VTT logo vacuum printed onto the tops, with a UV resistant gloss clear coating. This is not only strong but will resist discoloration for an extended period of time.
