The new High Performance Street 5.0 Pads are a Ferro-Carbon compound brake pads that provide advanced braking characteristics to enhance the driving experience. This new compound combines the safety and quality of aerospace design partnered with the braking technology of motorsports. The results are shorter stopping distances, improved performance under heavy braking conditions and friendly street car characteristics. Hawk High Performance Street 5.0 Pads offer more stopping power and greater resistance to brake fade, elevating your street car’s performance. This makes them more responsive and durable than most standard original brakes. As standard brake pads wear, brake dust is released as the friction material wears in everyday braking. Hawk High Performance Street 5.0 brake pads are formulated to produce and release extremely low levels of dust in normal street driving conditions while also being very quiet. A brake pad from the right of the graph such as DTC-50, DTC-60, or DTC-70 will provide aggressive stopping power for the track, but may not be suitable for street driving as they require higher temperatures to function properly. Selecting a pad from the left of the graph such as HPS 5.0, HP+, or the new Street Race will offer a more streetable upgrade with comparatively lower dust and quieter performance, while still improving brake torque and being gentle on rotors.

Hydraulic handbrakes are a necessity for any track car that will be drifted or will need the rear brakes isolated for any reason. The stock hand brakes aren't nearly powerful enough to apply the force needed for ample stopping power due to their drum brake design, the brake cable tends to stretch and snap over time, and if the button accidentally catches, the hand brake may lock of the wheels longer than desired.
