This is the plastic heater inlet pipe that connects the cylinder head to the heater inlet on cars with the M52 or M54 engine. The plastic on this hose becomes brittle over time and eventually leads to failure. Replace yours with a brand new Bav Auto Heater inlet pipe to prevent catastrophic failure.
