A failed pulley could leave you stranded which is why it is vital to inspect the pulleys during routine maintenance. This is an aluminum version of the stock power steering pulley used on M52, M52tu, and M54 engines. It's the same size and uses the same hardware and the original belt as the stock plastic pulley. Having an operational bleeder screw for your coolant system assures that when service is performed, all air pockets are removed. Having air pockets in your coolant system prevents your system from functioning properly. Your heat may not work as well and there is the potential for engine overheating if the air pocket is trapped behind the thermostat. Be sure that all of the air is bled out of your system with a new bleeder screw.

You don't want to have to drop the exhaust, and transmission again to replace a <$20 gasket, bolt or pivot pin.
