Fuel filters should be replaced at no more than 60,000 miles. As the fuel filter becomes contaminated it causes the pump to work harder to maintain pressure. This can cause the pump to overheat and drastically reduce its lifespan.
A must for any tune-up and the source for a lot of engine issues, including: hard starting, hesitations, lean mixture faults, misfire faults, and stallings. The fuel filter is easy to change and it's recommended to replace it every 30-40,000 miles. This is an OEM Mann filter.

This is an OEM replacement fuel filter. BMW recommends changing the fuel filter every 20,000 miles to keep your fuel injection system clean, a must for every tune-up. Fits 2001-2006 M3 (E46) and 2001-2002 MZ3 Roadster & Coupe (S54 engine). We recommend replacing the aluminum crush ring #07119963129 while replacing the filter.
