The factory VANOS exhaust hub on the S54 engine is known to develop excessive play where the drive tabs interface with the oil pump disk. Over time, this imprecise fitment causes a back-and-forth rattling motion that can result in the tabs shearing off inside the engine, risking catastrophic damage or complete engine failure. Unlike other aftermarket solutions that require full VANOS disassembly, retiming, or replacement of the oil pump disk, the Turner Motorsport S54 VANOS Hub Upgrade offers a smarter approach. Our bolt-on fix eliminates the common failure point without opening the VANOS unit or disturbing engine timing.

Our solution involves removing the worn tabs from your stock exhaust hub and installing our precision-fit replacement, which is precision-machined from 4340 steel and hardened to meet OEM specifications. Designed using 3D scanning and CAD modeling, the Turner Motorsport VANOS Exhaust Hub Upgrade provides a tight, interference-free fit into the oil pump disc, completely resolving the issue without unnecessary labor.

Features & Benefits:

Direct bolt-on solution for S54 VANOS oil pump drive tab failure, preventing potentially catastrophic damage to engine internals Precision-machined from high-strength 4340 steel and heat-treated to match OEM specifications Designed using 3D scanning and CAD modeling to ensure precise fitment within the OEM oil pump disc Engineered to eliminate the play that exists between the exhaust hub and oil pump disc from factory Backed by extensive real-world testing and our lifetime replacement program!

Now that BMWs popular S54 engine (found in the 2001-06 BMW M3, 2001-02 MZ3 and 2007-08 MZ4) are getting older, it's important to keep an eye on particular items. One such point is the S54 Vanos oil line. Normally thought of as a worry-free item, it has proven to put the damper on many track days. Rogue's stainless steel braided VANOS line replaces the factory BMW part number 11367837614 (current MSRP from BMW is $128.08!) The high pressure (1200psi) control system of the S54 vanos system is used to ensure responsive and accurate camshaft adjustments. The added complexity of the high oil pressure used on the S54 vanos means more opportunities for failures. Some customers have encountered the high pressure hardline fail at the track, spraying oil all over their engine compartment, ending their day. Rogue Engineering's S54 Vanos Oil Line is built in their Upper Saddle River, NJ facility, and tested to over 3000psi. Using their stainless steel braided hose with the proper banjo fittings, this a direct replacement for the factory line. Like the factory line, the lower portion of the line uses a heat sleeve from additional heat from the VANOS pump itself. Fits the following BMWs: 2001-06 BMW E46 M3 2001-02 BMW MZ3, including coupe and convertible 2007-08 BMW MZ4, including coupe and convertible

The timing chain in any vehicle can begin to stretch and rattle over time. This is a common issue, and though BMW says it is a lifetime part, most enthusiasts decide to change them. If you need only the timing chain instead of a kit, ECS Tuning has your replacement.
