Timing issues can be detrimental to the longevity of your BMW. If you're getting high in mileage or suspect a timing issue, it's likely time for a timing service. We have everything you need from tensioners to guides here at Turner Motorsport.
This Genuine BMW timing chain tensioner piston mounts at the bottom of the timing system. Over time this piston seals can fail causing the timing chain to become slack. This can initally lead to excess valve train noise and over timeit can damage the other timing components. Replace the timing chain tensioner on your S62 V8 engine today.
When doing any sort of repair or maintenance there is no replacement for genuine factory parts. Turner Motorsport carries the Genuine BMW brand with pride and has the parts you need to complete your next project with confidence.

The 1999 - 2003 US and Euro E39 M5 (S62) uses a dual VAN0S for each bank of cylinders making it a fairly complex system. While the VAN0S units themselves are quite reliable and should last the life of the car in most cases, the solenoids can cause various problems which can be mistaken for a VAN0S failure. We offer a Genuine BMW fully rebuilt VAN0S with brand new factory Solenoids.

This M6x16 mounting screw is used throughout the BMW model range on a variety of components. Most importantly, this is the latest updated version of the cam sprocket mounting bolt used in the E46 M3 S54 engine (and MZ3 and Z4 M). The original VAN0S-cam gear mounting bolts are known for weakness and a sheared bolt will quickly lead to VAN0S or terminal engine failure. 12 are required for S54 VAN0S bolt replacement (6 per cam sprocket). All other quantities vary based on application.

Timing chain guides are a main failure point in the otherwise bulletproof S62. Common failure symptoms include excessive vibration or “slap” from the timing chain, and the possibility of plastic particles throughout the oil. Symptoms typically begin to surface between 80,000 and 100,000 miles. If left untouched, the issue can compound itself so far as to allow the timing chain to jump out of time, leaving you with a potentially damaged head and higher repair costs. From new timing chain guides to a replacement oil pan drain plug, this kit has you covered to ensure that all the needed parts are on hand and ready to install. Kit includes: All required Gaskets and seals Timing chain tensioners Timing chain guide rails Water pipe hose o-rings Timing chain 1 Gallon BMW coolant Replacement oil filter with associated o-ring. 7 Liters Castrol Edge Professional TWS 10w60 Motor Oil Valve cover gaskets Dipstick O-ring
