This is the factory BMW heater valve that controls the heat flow into the cabin of the car. Typically the heater valve gets stuck in the open position allowing excess heat into the cabin which may initially appear to be a problem with low air conditioning flow. The valve will be in the engine compartment, on the driver�s side, against the firewall.
