Differentials serve the key purpose of transmitting power from the driveshaft to the axles. Factory rubber bushings absorb some of this power to allow for cushy, comfortable acceleration, at the expense of performance. Many OEM differential bushings are fast-wearing and failure prone, resulting in driveline slop and thunks when shifting or going over bumps.
