Bearing - Differential Pinion Shaft (36.5 X 76.2 X 29.3 mm)
The differential has two main parts, a ring gear and a pinion gear. These two gears ride on tapered roller bearings and transfer power from the driveshaft to the rear wheels. These bearings do wear out after many miles, requiring replacement to keep you on the road.
If your vehicle is making a growling noise at highway speeds, your differential bearings may be in need of replacement. This bearing is located on the pinion shaft, and requires a full tear down in order to replace it.
