Over the life of a vehicle, the transmission can often be overlooked when performing routine maintenance. If left unserviced, the automatic transmission fluid will break down, causing the valve body and filter to become contaminated with deposits and sludge. This will lead to poor shifting, slipping, and ultimately, transmission failure. Kit Includes: Genuine BMW Automatic transmission filter Genuine BMW Oil Pan Gasket & Installation Hardware Genuine BMW Drain plug with sealing washer Genuine BMW Fill plug with sealing washer 9 Liters of Genuine BMW ATF 3+ Fluid NOTE: The 8HP76 transmission is originally filled with 9.3 liters of fluid. This kit contains 9 liters of fluid as some fluid always remains in the valve body, accumulator, and transmission. The 9 liters of fluid included is enough to drain both the transmission pan, the oil cooler, and the oil cooler lines. If you have an upgraded transmission cooler, we recommend picking up an additional liter of fluid to account for the increased capacity. As per ZF's recommendations, Turner Motorsport suggests performing a full service on your 8HP automatic transmission every 50,000 miles. If your vehicle is modified and makes more power than stock or if your vehicle is regularly track-driven, we recommend shorter 30,000-mile service intervals. This will ensure your transmission's fluid is free from contamination which will help extend the life of internal transmission components like clutch packs and solenoids.
