Pipercross Plus Performance Foam Air Intake Filter - F44 F48 F39

Just like the original Pipercross performance foam air filters, the Pipercross Plus filters are a direct-fit solution to increase intake airflow without needing to replace your stock intake system. Installation can be completed in minutes, or sometimes only seconds, and is as simple as opening the airbox, discarding the old filter, and replacing it with a free-flowing Pipercross air filter. With the new Plus design, Pipercross has eliminated the old mesh screen in favor of a 1mm steel frame. This frame offers increased reinforcement while also covering less surface area, increasing the amount of airflow able to pass through the filter unobstructed. Also, a special and new foam matrix has been used after testing multiple formulations of foam with varying results to ensure the ultimate combination. The first foam layer is a 20PPI foam that captures the large dirt particles in an optimized thickness of 20mm, providing a great balance between filtration and flow. A second 5mm Layer of 60 PPI foam is used to filter out any finer particles that make their way through the more open foam, this layer is mostly for protection, by keeping its thickness to a minimum it doesn’t disrupt the great flow of air this filter allows. Why choose a foam air filter over a standard pleated paper or cotton gauze-style filter? Two reasons: Air Flow & Contamination. These filters are designed to flow higher volumes of air compared to OE-Style filters, resulting in less intake restriction for an easier breathing engine. This can help with both engine response and power.
