The SPEC Stage 3+ clutch is designed for tuned street or race/track cars that require a serious and capable clutch. The Stage 3+ uses a full-face semi-metallic and carbon clutch for strong engagement and high torque capacity (it's rated for 493 ft-lbs). Stage 3+ differs from the Stage 3 by having a full face clutch surface instead of a 6-puck layout. It's smoother and easier to engage than the regular Stage 3 or Stage 4 and popular among the turbo E30 crowd.

The stock clutch in the M20 E30 is not terrible but can become quickly overheated and lead to glazing on the flywheel surface and inconsistent engagement. A more robust material is needed to handle the extreme temperatures found at the track.
