The updated X3M/X4M intake system from Eventuri, though unconventional at first glance, is a well-engineered solution within the available space. This improved design fits both pre-LCI and LCI models of the F97 and F98 X3M and X4M. The airflow path from the filters to the turbo inlets is more direct, avoiding the sharp turns typical of OEM airbox designs. Rather than a complete overhaul, the focus is on enhancing the OEM airbox for better airflow and temperature efficiency. Eventuri’s drop-in replacement filters, made from non-woven mesh, offer significantly higher flow rates compared to the standard paper filters. To further reduce inlet air temperatures and channel air into the airbox, large front scoops are positioned behind the grilles. These carbon scoops guide air into the ducts, minimizing restrictions on the inlet side of the airbox. The carbon airbox lid, while not contributing to performance, enhances the induction sound and provides an aesthetic upgrade to the engine bay.
