BMW Mass Air Sensor & Air Flow Meters for BMW E36 (1992-1998) M3

We sell OEM air mass sensors, air flow meters, and HFMs (Hot Film Meter) for many BMWs. When the mass air sensor is bad you will notice your engine running out of tune. Your fuel mileage will suffer, throttle response will be poor, and you will notice a lack of power.

There should be a Check Engine Light to alert you that the air sensor is having problems. However, there may not be a fault code for the air meter itself. Often times the code comes up as fuel trim or lean condition. In these cases the air sensor could be just one of a number of potential problems.

We only sell air sensors from Original Equipment Manufacturers like, Bosch, VDO, and Siemens. Please note that HFMs are an electrical part and cannot be returned for refund.

Replacement mass air sensor for M52, S52-US engines. This HFM is an OEM part, made by Siemens VDO. 3.0" diameter.The M52 engines in the E36 and E39 have a notorious fault for hesitation and sluggish response. If this is your situation the MAF should be on your list to check. The HFM is easy to replace and could cure a variety of problems. We also sell HFM sensor cleaner that may clear your problem (see below).Complete your repair with a new boot and new clamps by selecting the option below. Boots are OE-spec or Original BMW and we use high-quality factory-style clamps. Complete Application List:

The mass airflow sensor measures the amount of airflow to tell the computer how much fuel to add to the mixture. This Euro HFM (Hot Film Meter or mass air sensor) from the Euro M3 is larger in diameter than the USA's M3 meter. This HFM will meter and flow more air than the stock one, giving you more power. THIS REQUIRES PROPER SOFTWARE to run correctly and you may also need larger fuel injectors to prevent the engine from running lean. We've used this HFM on the 1995 M3 or any 1996+ S52 engine that has been converted to OBD-1 electronics. We prefer to use this HFM over the 540 meter because this is a direct bolt-on to the Euro airbox (for those that want a factory appearance). This HFM is not used on our OBD-2 Performance Kits or with OBD-2 Shark Injector software. This is an OEM replacement for BMW part # 13621403123.
