We recommend replacing the rubber boot that connects the ignition coil to the spark plug. Sometimes a bad coil may just be a broken or damaged connector boot. This is especially true on cars with a leaking valve cover gasket where the oil has contamintated the rubber boot and the electrical parts inside. This boot can be replaced on its own without having to buy a whole new coil. This part is also useful if you purchased a coil that did not come with a new boot.

This is an OEM INA Idler Pulley, also known as the roller pulley or deflection pulley. The idler pulleys are known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. The pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. Replacement is a very simple procedure and can be done anytime the fan is off the engine (belt replacement, water pump service, alternator replacement, etc). Timing chain guides are a main failure point in the otherwise bulletproof M62. Common symptoms of failure include excessive vibration or “slap” from the timing chain, and the possibility of plastic particles throughout the oil. Symptoms typically begin to surface between 80,000 and 100,000 miles. If left untouched, the issue can compound itself so far as to allow the timing chain to jump out of time, leaving you with a potentially damaged head and larger repair costs.
