This upper front control arm (also known as a thrust arm or tension strut) is a direct replacement for the original part and is the OEM Lemforder brand.

Control arms, and their integrated ball joints, are some of the most crucial components on a BMW suspension. The control arms literally control the wheel and suspension as they go through their range of motions. A faulty or worn control arm or ball joint is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening problem so make sure they are inspected and replaced at regular intervals. For a street-driven car we advise yearly inspection and a full replacement every 3-4 years. For track-driven cars these should be inspected before every event and replaced every two years.

The E38 upper control arms include both the inner and outer bushing.

BBS Wheels combine decades of race proven quality and German engineering with stunning good looks. Utilizing the most cutting-edge manufacturing technologies based on a foundation of constant innovation continues to propel BBS into the future. LM wheels consist of a pressure cast wheel surface and a flow formed rim structure. Combining these two fabrication techniques yields a wheel that is extremely strong while remaining lightweight. Using FEM analysis the engineers at BBS are able to precisely measure and optimize wheel properties before this process even begins. Once the forging process is complete, the meticulous finish work begins. Back-milling is a process used to optimize the ratio between weight and stability. Using advanced computer analysis and a special CNC milling process the lateral parts that hold the wheel spokes, and are not relevant for stability, are removed. Extensive real-world simulation is used at this point to further ensure that no strength or stability has been lost. Finally, BBS pays special attention in machining the undercut or back side of the wheel. To machine the undercut, all areas on the inner side of the wheel and the star hub that correspond to weight optimization are processed with special turning or milling tools and excess material is removed to reduce the rotating wheel mass. Special attention is hereby given to the optimization of the inner sides of the spokes and the bolt circle. With the application of these methods, BBS is able to produce more complex forms with increased stability and less material input. These wheels come in Diamond Silver with a diamond cut lip and BBS ensures that their paint quality exceeds OE manufacturer specifications for durability and longevity. A final protective clear coat layer ensures that these wheels will be easy to clean and look amazing for years to come. These are a pair of replacement FRONT rotors for E39 540i, E38 740i/iL, E31 850i, and E31 850CSi (see detailed fitment notes below). These are direct replacement rotors from some of the best names in the business and at substantial savings from buying direct from the BMW dealer.

We offer a choice of brands to satisfy our customer's stringent quality standards -
Balo - an original supplier to BMW but not sold through the regular BMW dealer network. We buy these from the OEM distributor to bypass the dealer for a hefty discount. These are made to the same specifications and product quality as if it had a BMW logo. The biggest difference is these will not have a corrosion-inhibiting coating so rust will form on the hub and inside the cooling vanes.
Zimmermann Coated - an OEM type rotor made to the same dimensions and specs as the original design. These rotors are manufactured in Europe with a high carbon content for excellent wear and thermal resistance. We like these rotors a lot because the quality is very high and the entire rotor is coated with anti-corrosion layer to prevent rust on the hub and in the cooling vanes.
Original BMW - the factory BMW rotors that you would buy at any BMW dealer but we offer them at a discounted price. These rotors also have anti-corrosion coating but are not as extensively coated as the Zimmermann. If you want a rotor that is guaranteed to perform like the original equipment what better brand is there?
