The DISA Valve adjusts the intake manifold runner length to improve performance. When it fails it can lead to a rough idle and perhaps an engine fault code light. This adjusting unit fits E46 325i with M54 engine, 330i, E39 530i, E60 530i 2004-2005 - X3 3.0i 2004-2006 - X5 3.0i 2000-2006 Z3 3.0i, Z4 3.0i 2003-2006. From 1974 to 2019, Bavarian Autosport was one of the premier vendors for BMW and MINI auto parts. A bad DISA valve can cause a variety of issues, from a loud racket in the engine bay, hesitation at low rpm and a rough idle with lean codes. If the valve is making a loud noise, we recommend replacing it as soon as possible. It is possible for the pin holding the flap to be sucked into the motor causing serious damage. Very easy to replace, just need to undo the 4 bolts holding it to the intake manifold. Includes new mounting hardware
