This is the OEM Behr engine oil cooler for E60 M5 and E63 M6 with the S85 V10 engine. On the S85 engine it is critical to keep the oil temperatures as low as possible. Higher oil temperatures can lead to failures of the variable valve timing system and engine bearings. If the cooling capacity of your oil cooler is compromised in any way we recommend replacing the unit to avoid future expensive repairs.
