Supersprint sport cats for the M5/M6 are designed to work with their performance headers and replace the stock secondary cats. The Supersprint sport cats are much freer-flowing than a factory-style cat. With less restriction, less effort is required to move the exhaust gasses which will free up horsepower and torque. This cat section will mount to the Supersprint merge collectors and then to a Supersprint or stock section 2. These are built with O2 sensor bungs pre-installed after the cat if you wanted to extend your stock post-cat O2 sensors (however, special software may still be needed).

Supersprint metallic sport catalytic converters are sourced from HJS of Germany. For 30 years HJS has been supplying motorsports teams with sport cats when rules required them. HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. With any high-flow catalytic converter, special software or other work may be required to keep emissions fault codes and check engine lights from displaying. Supersprint catalytic converters are sold for track and other off-road uses only.

These tuned resonators replace the factory resonator in section 2 of the exhaust. Supersprint also offers this section without any resonator at all. But if noise and volume is a strong consideration for you then using resonators is a good idea. If you were building a track car with headers and no cats then resonators will help keep noise levels low. This section is 309 stainless steel and 70mm diameter pipes (a little bigger than the factory size) so this piece will flow better and be a little louder than the factory resonator.

The Supersprint X-Pipe will delete the set of resonators ahead of the rear mufflers. By removing the resonators, you can get more volume and growl from your exhaust as well as decrease exhaust restriction for slightly better power and torque. Deleting resonators makes a small but noticeable increase in overall volume and also changes the sound with a little more rasp and rip. This x-pipe fits in section 2 of the exhaust - after the factory secondary cat section and before the rear mufflers. It's also a full 70mm diameter - slightly larger than the stock piping. You will need to cut the original resonator section out of the exhaust and the Supersprint is clamped into place.

Fitment note: no rear clamps are included with this section. Supersprint designed this to work with their own rear mufflers. However, if you are fitting this with other mufflers a clamp kit is available (see Additional Items below). The front of this section does include a clamp-type fitting to the stock catalytic converters.

These pipes fit after the headers and will eliminate the second set of cats in the stock exhaust. You can use these pipes with the stock exhaust headers/cats or with the Supersprint cat-delete downpipes. By deleting the secondary cats you remove a significant blockage in the exhaust flow - increasing horsepower and improving reliability for track or competition cars. You won't have to contend with catalytic material breaking down and clogging your exhaust while you're on the track. Supersprint's dyno testing with this pipe and the rest of their exhaust resulted in a 22hp gain! In addition removing the cats will make the exhaust louder, allowing more glorious V10 magic to be heard! These are the newest Supersprint section 1 pipes with oversized 70mm pipes.
