The valve cover is responsible for sealing the internal workings of the engines' top end. Most vehicles require a replacement gasket at some point or another and newer models have plastic valve covers that get brittle and crack with age.
Years of excessive can cause the plastics of your valve cover to become warp or become hard and brittle, leading to cracking and potential oil leak issues.
